With crime levels as they are in South Africa, the demand for aluminium security shutters is enormous! We have been a market-leading manufacturer of these beautiful (and secure) shutters since 2007.
Following covid/lockdown we embarked on developing a robust business model that would better cater for the needs of the market. Over the past 4 years we have designed and developed a completely “revolutionary” (win:win) business strategy that is a complete “market disruptor”.
There are currently only around 5 manufacturers of aluminium security shutters in SA. The main reason for this is because the barrier to entry is very high. We are changing that!
Over the past 4 years we have developed the most powerful, cloud based, software to run and manage the complete backend to the business of manufacturing shutters. Our proprietary software, coupled with our product range and IP, now offers our target market a very easy route/access to market. We have already achieved “proof of concept” so this is a proven model and not just an “idea” or a startup. We are fundamentally offering our target market a franchise-type opportunity; and we have several prospects lined up and ready to come onboard.
In a nutshell (to explain this business for sale listing further): We are now establishing a *newco, which will own the exclusive rights to SA for the use of our IP, and we’re inviting equity partner(s) into this *newco to invest in this growth & expansion phase we’ve been working towards for the past 4 years. The primary risk (R&D phase) is over, this is now the “launch and money-making phase”.
Our business model has 3x revenue streams for the *newco, namely:
1. Sale of licenses to people around the country that would like to manufacture our shutters.
2. Royalty on the use of our IP and backend software.
3. Supply Chain.
We are looking for a R10m investor for a 50% equity stake in the *newco. Alternatively, multiple smaller investors (e.g. 10x R1m, or 20x R500k partners) are also welcome to invest in this opportunity.
