The owner and his wife runs the business and they have three employees, two that run the workshop and one driver. A part-time cleaner comes in three days a week.
The owner manages the business and was previously responsible for sales. However, he has stopped taking on new business due to his advanced age, although he gets many approaches. The business is thus ideal for a younger, energetic person with some hydraulic knowledge.
The owner’s wife is responsible for the administration side of the business and provision has been made in the appraisal for a replacement. Both of them would like to leave the business but will remain on for a negotiated handover period which they believe need not be longer than 3 months. They are well past retirement age and wish to retire, have no other plans, and will be available on a consultancy basis after the handover period.
They own the property they operate from and this is for sale in a separate transaction or can be rented from the owner.
